Disney Star Orlando Brown Has Been Arrested Again for DUI in California

Yahoo! News reported that Orlando Brown, who starred in Disney’s “That’s So Raven” show, was arrested in Hollywood, California for a DUI this past Sunday. The Inquisitr stated that Brown, who is only 25 years old, was booked into jail and is reportedly being held on a $26,000 warrant from a previous arrest for DUI after he failed to appear before a judge during a scheduled court hearing in October of 2012. According to records from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, Brown has not received a court date yet. It was noted that this is one of many times that Brown has had trouble with the law. In 2007, he was arrested for possession of marijuana. Then, in 2011, he received a DUI charge.

Drunk Driver Gets Killed in Crash

KRQE stated that Ladell Light, a drunk driver, has died after leading police on a high speed chase which ended in a multi-vehicle crash. Police officials from Farmington, New Mexico responded to someone’s 911 phone call reporting the suspicion of a drunk driver driving a vehicle near Walmart on Main Street. According to police reports, a legal officer approached Light, who was pumping gas, and noticed that he showed obvious signs of impairment. The police officer tried to prevent Light from driving his car, however, Light managed to get back in the car and drive away. It was reported that the legal officer ran back to his police unit to pursue the subject and called out on the radio that a suspected drunk driver had fled. 

Not too far away, another legal officer spotted Light’s drunk driving and speeding. It was said that Light was driving at a high rate of speed, swerving into oncoming traffic consequently coming close to causing several accidents. The police officer began to chase Light, when he crashed into another car, hit a pick up truck, and hit a third car. It was noted that Light received critical injuries and was taken to the nearest hospital, where he was declared dead. Local police officials are still working on the details of the case.

Albuquerque City Councilor Gets DWI

The ABQ Journal reported that Michael Cook, the Albuquerque City Councilor, is resigning after his arrest on suspicion of DWI last night. It was determined that a local police officer stopped Cook near 2500 block of San Pedro NE. After Cook was administered several field sobriety tests, he was taken to the Metropolitan Detention. He received charges for DWI, violating traffic laws, and driving with no license plates and registration forms. It was noted that he was released from jail earlier this morning.

Gerges Scott,  a public relations agent, was ordered by Cook to contact the ABQ Journal on his behalf.  According to Scott’s message, Cook stated: “I am resigning my position as the District 7 City Councilor effective today…I am a man that believes in personal responsibility and accountability…I do not want to distract any attention from the needs or goals of the city…I will be with my family and friends as I move past this regrettable incident in my life.” The journal has attempted to contact Cook, by leaving him a voice mail message, but he has not communicated back with them.

The Daily Record claimed that a woman, Kelly Vasile, was consecutively charged with two DWI within two days. It was stated that Vasile, who is a local from Sparta, New Jersey, received the first DWI on the evening of March 23. Vasile’s blood alcohol content level tests proved she had more than twice the New Jersey’s legal limit. Two days later, on the evening of March 25, legal officers responded to a 911 phone call from a motorist reporting a drunk driver in a red old Volvo. Police officers located the vehicle at a Radio Shack parking lot. As they came near the vehicle, which was illegally parked across two handicap parking spaces, Vasile’s husband (Gheorghe Vasile) got out of the vehicle’s driver’s seat. According to the police report, it was determined that Vasile drove and parked the Volvo in the parking lot. Supposedly, Gheorge Vasile only moved the car to get closer to the store that Vasile went into. Police officers claimed that both had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating form their mouths and they were slurring their words…along with a a red solo cup containing liquor found in the car.

They both failed the field sobriety tests that were administered to them. Consequently, they were put under arrest for DWI and taken to the local police station for more testing. Vasile was  charged with another DWI, careless driving, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and allowing a suspended driver to operate her motor vehicle. Likewise, Gheorge received charges for DWI, driving with a suspended license, illegally parking in a handicap space, negligent driving, and having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. It was noted that after a couple of hours, they were released to a sober adult and Vasile’s Volvo was impounded again for a second time.

Fox News reported that Gage James Lindsey, an 18 year old, received charges for suspicion of DUI after he crashed his car into a Las Vegas restaurant. It was stated that Lindsey crashed his 2003 Lexus into the “Egg & I”, which is near Sahara Avenue and the Las Vegas Strip, approximately during lunch hours. Lindsey crashed into the restaurant’s patio tables and a picture window, seriously injuring about 10 people. Furthermore, police officials stated that Lindsey attempted to discard a Xanax pill while he and a 21-year-old passenger, David Roldan, tried to run from the scene. However, both were tackled down by witnesses. Authorities claimed that Lindsey did not have medical prescription for the drugs. He was summoned to a court hearing this coming Thursday. In addition, on Thursday, the judge dealing with his case will appoint him a lawyer. It was noted that Roldan did not receive any charges.

aj richardsonAJ Richardson, a mayoral candidate for the city of Pittsburgh, was arrested and charged with DUI on April 3, 2013. Richardson was arrested after police responded to a call about a vehicle stopped in the middle of Steuben Street and found Richardson slumped over the steering wheel unconscious, with the engine running. After the officers blew their horn to no response, one of them proceeded to yell and tap on the glass in an attempt to wake Richardson up. Police say that when Richardson woke up, he displayed several symptoms of alcohol intoxication and struggled to pull out his driver’s license. Officer Suzensky said that the mayoral candidate failed several field sobriety tests and almost fell over while attempting to complete two of them.

The arresting officers also noted that the front of Richardson’s vehicle appeared to be damaged, as if he had struck something prior to them finding him. AJ Richardson said that the arrest was merely an attempt to “discredit” him and that he had “no reason to apologize“. Officer Suzensky also said that while Richardson was at the special deployment division for addition testing, he became verbally hostile and said “let me talk to someone who’s in charge because ya’all brothers are subservient to the white man…you should have some back bone and be a voice for the black people“. AJ Richardson did not have an attorney with him at a preliminary arraignment and said that he will stay in the mayoral race because “God is on my side“. Richardson is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 10.

john clark gableJohn Clark Gable, the son of great Hollywood star Clark Gable, was charged with DUI as well as hit and run on April 2, 2013 in Malibu, California. Gable was arrested around three in the afternoon on Tuesday after hitting a vehicle around the Malibu Pier then crashing into six more vehicles on the Pacific Coast Highway. Police say no one was injured during the incident, however, John Clark Gable was taken to the hospital afterwards for a blood alcohol test. It is still unclear at the time if Gable submitted any field sobriety tests or what his blood alcohol content (BAC) level was at the time of the incident.

Geno Bahena, a witness to the incident saw Gable stumble out of his vehicle and said, “It took him a few seconds to get out of his truck. And finally, when he got out of his truck — I guess he was in shock or something — he just fell on the floor“. Official records showed that Gable was held on $15,000 bail and released from custody at 11:40 p.m. the same day. John’s son, Clark, also faced criminal charges in 2011 after plead guilty to one felony count of discharging a laser at an aircraft. Clark admitted to flashing a laser at an LAPD helicopter 3 times as it flew above Hollywood Boulevard.

Nevada Teen Involved In Deadly DUI With Bail Set At 3.5 Million

jean sorianoA teenager involved in a deadly DUI in Las Vegas Nevada that killed 5 people on March 30, 2013 has had bail set at $3.5 million. Jean Ervin Soriano faces was charged with felony DUI after a deadly crash that occurred at around 2:35 am Saturday morning on Interstate 15. Soriano was driving a Dodge Durango that night when he slammed into the back of a van, causing it to overturn. According to police, most of the 5 people in the van were thrown from the vehicle as it overturned and killed.

Police say that Soriano told the arresting officer he had “too many” beers before driving that night and that he was from California but could did not name the city or remember his exact address. The victims family members said that 3 of the men killed were brothers on their way back home from visiting their ill father in Denver. After the deadly DUI crash, Soriano was hospitalized for several hours before being taken to Clark County Jail. Soriano was driving with a 15 year old boy and 40 year old woman who were both taken to the hospital and have recently been upgraded from critical to serious condition with non-life-threatening injuries. Soriano’s blood alcohol content (BAC) test results are still pending and a judge has set his arraignment for April 10, where he will be represented by a public defender.

WRGB reported that a taxi driver, Larry Northrop, was DWI with passengers in the car in Ballston Spa, New York. Legal officers responded to a 911 call that they received from Capital Land Taxi dispatcher, claiming that one of their drivers was driving erratic and swerving all over the road. It was reported that the passengers told Northrop to stop the car and let them get out. However, when he refused to do so, they called the taxi company to report the situation. The dispatcher called police officials after Northrop refused to stop the vehicle in response to their radio call. Luckily, police officials were able to spot and pull Northrop over. The police report stated that Northrop showed signs of intoxication and was administered field sobriety tests, all of which he failed. He was arrested for being drunk, high and driving with a suspended license. Northrop was charged with several accounts of DWI, violating traffic laws, and driving with a suspended license. In addition, a representative from Capital Land Taxi claimed that Northrop was fired.

Devin Brown played with the Spurs from 2002-2005 and averaged 7.4 points with 18.5 minutes off the bench.
