Mother Gets Arrested For Driving Drunk To School

Fox 4 News reported that in Overland Park, Kansas, a mother was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol while picking up her child from an elementary school on Tuesday, November 12. The mother, Ashlee Huber, allegedly drove drunk to Commanche Elemenatry School to pick up her five year old kindergarten daughter. It was then that a staff personnel noticed that Huber, 29 years old, was acting a little odd. According to the news story, the school decided to inform legal authorities of the incident before Huber drove away. Police officials arrested Huber for drunk driving and charged her with a DUI. It was noted that police officers found another child, a four-year-old, in the car with her at the time. Leigh Ann Neal, representative for the Shawnee Mission School District, stated, “Sometimes situations are difficult, but when something happens, staff takes every step possible to make sure safety concern is taken care of…” Huber spent one day in jail and was released with a bail bond. No further information pertaining her legal case was released.
