Miami Dolphins cornerback Will Allen was arrested around 3:30 am early Saturday and charged with DUI in Miami. Officers noticed that Allen had bloodshot eyes, a constant sleepy look and an odor of alcohol on his breath. While trying to conduct a FL DUI investigation, Allen revved the engine of his Lamborghini Gallardo and refused to get out of the vehicle.

Allen did submit to two breath tests, which revealed a blood alcohol content of .152% and .167%, about two times the legal limit for alcohol intoxication in Florida.

Lawmaker Wants Ignition Interlock for All Georgia DUI Offenders

A state lawmaker has introduced legislation that would make the installation of an ignition interlock device an option following a conviction for driving under the influence in Georgia. Under current Georgia DUI law a judge has the discretion of requiring such a device depending on the circumstances of the case. In addition, those convicted of two or more DUI offenses within a five year period must install an interlock on their vehicle for at least six months. The new law would allow a judge to stipulate the mandatory installation of an interlock in all DUI cases, including first offenders.

The bill’s author, Rep Tom Knox, says that the measure will reduce recidivism. He hopes that those with a true drinking problem will be identified before they become a repeat offender.
