X Factor Contestant Gets DUI

X Factor contestant, Lexa Berman, was arrested this past weekend for a DUI in Delray Beach, Florida. She might lose the privilege of participating in the next round of X Factor, where contestants are given the opportunity to compete for a recording contract. Berman, who is 22 years old, had recently “auditioned for the X Factor talent show in front of Britney Spears and Simon Cowell in San Francisco.”

Delray Beach police officials stated that Berman was driving through the intersection of Linton and South Ocean boulevards when she “first collided with another car…then crashed into some bushes and a block wall just down the road.” When police officials approached her, Berman confessed she was coming from a show in West Palm Beach, where she had two drinks. An officer administered a field sobriety test, during which she “piped up” and laughed, “Can’t even do that sober.” Officials stated that she failed to balance while walking heel to toe and fell into the bushes.

Berman’s blood alcohol test determined that she had a BAC of .288%, which is almost three times the legal limit in the state of Florida. She was arrested and taken into Palm Beach County Jail, where she was later bailed out. No other information was disclosed.
