Williamson County Sheriff Spokesperson Arrested For DWI

John FosterDetective John Foster, a spokesperson for the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office was arrested for DWI on June 29, 2013. According to Capt. Fred Thomas, the incident occurred on Saturday night around 11:30 p.m. on I-35 near Jarrell when police received calls about a black BMW speeding, running red lights and swerving into oncoming traffic. Police said that they suspected Foster was intoxicated after they noticed he had watery, bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol.

While Foster was cooperative throughout the ordeal, police also said that he had trouble talking and was mumbling throughout the interrogation process. The Williamson County spokesperson was given a field sobriety test and after submitting a breathalyzer test, was found to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) level of .092%, above the legal limit of .08%. Foster was arrested and taken to the Williamson County Jail with bond set at $1,000. Foster was released from jail on Sunday and has been placed on administrative leave, pending an investigation, since the DWI incident. John Foster is a lieutenant with the criminal investigation division in addition to his duties as a Williamson County Sheriff’s office spokesperson.
