A driver suspected of driving under the influence in Washington lost control of his vehicle and struck a propane tank, causing it to explode into flames. David L. Dalgliesh was traveling westbound on a two lane road in Sedro Woolley around 8:15 pm New Year’s Eve when his 1987 Ford Mustang slid off the highway. The ensuing explosion destroyed the vehicle and a house.
Dalgliesh, 45, was taken to a local medical center for treatment of injuries and burns. The occupant in the house managed to escape uninjured.
Washington State Patrol deputies believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident and are considering filing charges of DUI in Washington against Dalgliesh.
