Minnesota – Minnesota Vikings No. 1 receiver Koren Robinson, arrested for DWI on his way to training camp at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Multiple charges are pending. Due to behavior clauses in his contract Robinson faces being cut by the Vikings. Even if he remains with the team he may be suspended from the NFL for a year because of previous substance abuse issues.

Ohio – Ohio State University sophomore Tackle Alex Boone, arrested for DWI. Boone said he was drinking 30 to 40 beers a day prior to his arrest last April. Offensive Line Coach for the football team said "There was a problem that needed to be fixed, and it looks like it got fixed pretty good."

Texas – Starting Texas Ranger baseball pitcher Vicente De La Cruz Padilla arrested for DWI after running a red light and driving erratically. "We wouldn’t have had him arrested for driving while intoxicated if we didn’t believe he’d had anything to drink," said Dallas police Sgt. Gil Cerda.

Tennessee – University of Tennessee football player Joseph Lee Smith, arrested for DWI after driving his pickup truck on the sidewalk around 4:00 am in the Fraternity Row area of campus. The incoming freshman is also part of a ‘sex for grades’ scandal with a high school assistant principal. Smith is the fourth player on the Tennessee football team to be arrested since May.
