South Carolina Man Arrested for DUI on Lawnmower

Driving a lawnmower under the influence of alcohol is illegal in South Carolina. A Wellford man was arrested on Wednesday for doing just that. Robert Conrad III was using his home lawn care vehicle to circumnavigate Highway 29 when an officer stopped him as he bumbled down the roadway, and he alleges that Conrad smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech. Police officials say they are thankful no one was hurt.

The report says that Conrad was weaving in and out of traffic on a highway that has a posted speed limit of 50 mph. It was not released how fast Conrad was going in his vehicle. Conrad said he was traveling from the Startex area and was on his way home. The officer who pulled over Conrad greeted him by saying, “What are you doing, man?”
