Ohio Judge William Marshall Arrested For OVI

william marshallWilliam Marshall, a Scioto County Common Pleas Judge, was arrested for OVI (Operating a Vehicle under the Influence) on January 12, 2013. According to police, Marshall was involved in a single vehicle crash around 3 pm on Saturday. Marshall was driving his Toyota Prius eastbound on Ohio 140 in Jackson County and Lt. Ann Ralston of the Ohio State Patrol says, “He drove off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned“. According to Lt. Ralston, no other vehicles were involved.

Marshall was taken to the Jackson post of the Highway Patrol where he submitted a breathalyzer test that found his blood alcohol content (BAC) level to be .222%, almost 3 times the legal limit of .08%. Marshall was not injured in the crash and was cited with a misdemeanor OVI. Ralston has since been released from jail and is expected in court on January 17, 2013 at 9 am. Judge William Marshall made a statement after the incident saying, “I’m humiliated and I’ve humiliated my family. This was stupidity on my part, and I am very sorry to those that I’ve hurt. It was very foolish, and I am very grateful that no one was hurt“.

  2. I think he should no aloud to be a judge… What in the worl was he thinking?

  3. No he should not be a judge.This is not the first incident or DUI. How can he judge fairly when he breaks the law and gets a slap on the risk. I think the penalties should be higher for a man in his position. He obviously is ot thinking clearly or some other issues clouding his judgement to be almost 3 times over the LEGAL limit.
