Drunk Driving

On November 10th a motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a drunk driver in Kentwood, Louisiana. According to sources, “E.H.” Welch was driving his 2012 Can-Am Spyder on Highway 38 when his motorcycle was struck by a drunk driver in a 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck. The driver of the truck, Robert Morris, had driven off the roadway which caused the truck to cross into the westbound lane and strike the motorcycle. The impact sent the motorcycle into the air, and the crash killed 70 year old Welch.

In addition, Morris was charged with “careless operation and vehicular homicide.” The Louisiana Police Department is continuing to run toxicology lab analysis on both drivers in order to gain more information. Morris was riding with a group of friends and was the last motorcyclist in the group. The motorcyclists were just a few minutes into their trip when the accident occurred.
