Mel Gibson

A judge has expunged Mel Gibson’s record, wiping out his arrest for drunk driving in California. The 53-year old actor was stopped in July 2006 and charged with driving under the influence in Malibu. During his arrest, he uttered profanities and anti-Semitic comments towards the officers.

Under California law, a person can request that their arrest record be cleared once they complete all conditions of sentencing. Gibson has been under probation for three years, and not had another alcohol related offense. He also joined an Alcohol Anonymous program and performed public service work.
