Los Angeles Sheriff's Department Receives Grant to Fight California DUI

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department has received a $1.1 million grant to combat impaired and drunk driving. A DUI safety campaign will be deployed, including public education, as well as saturation patrols, stakeouts and sobriety checkpoints to target motorists driving under the influence. In addition, deputies will execute warrant searches against repeat offenders and conduct court stings looking for those who drive after having their license suspended for DUI in California.

The grant was awarded by the California Office of Traffic Safety.
