Heavyweight Boxer Tomasz Adamek Arrested For DWI

tomasz adamekTomasz Adamek, a heavyweight title contender with the International Boxing Federation, was arrested for DWI on January 12, 2013 in Lake Placid, New York. According to police, Adamek crashed his car into a parked vehicle in Lake Placid while making a turn. No one else was injured in the crash and while Adamek was checked out at a nearby hospital, he did not suffer any injuries.

Adamek, a 36 year old resident of Jersey City, was arrested for DWI and released on $1,000 bond after his arraignment. Adamek’s lawyer declined to comment on the incident and details of the crash have yet to be released. It is still unclear if Adamek was given any field sobriety tests or if is blood alcohol content (BAC) level was tested at the crash site. Tomasz Adamek had recently outpointed Steve Cunningham in a split decision bout and is scheduled to fight contender Kubrat Pulev.
