Hampton Public Works Director Accused Of DWI

keith noyesKeith Noyes, a resident of Exeter, New Hampshire and director at the Hampton Public Works department was arrested for DWI on November 23, 2012. When Noyes was arrested Friday evening around 11:30 pm, he denied drinking before getting behind the wheel and instead claims that he was on prescription medication. Noyes hasn’t offered many details but did say, “I was stopped while driving after I had taken a prescription medication“. Richard Kane, the Exeter Police Chief, said that Noyes was arrested for a motor vehicle violation and that his department is still investigating the substance that Noyes was under the influence of.

Remaining tight lipped, Noyes added that he wouldn’t identify the prescription drug he was on because it was a personal matter. Fred Welch, Hampton Town Manager, was able to confirm Noyes’ arrest but believes that information recorded in the police log is incorrect. Welch commented on the arrest saying, “I think the supposition as to why the arrest was made was incorrect, he was not arrested for driving while intoxicated.” Noyes was released from jail on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled for arraignment in the Brentwood District Court at 8 am on January 2, 2012.
