Georgia Tech B-Ball Assistant Gets DUI

On Thursday morning, Josh Postorino, one of Georgia Tech’s basketball team assistant was arrested for a DUI in Jacksonville, Florida. He was released shortly but refused to make any comments on the situation. Sources stated that consequently Postorino was unable to attend Saturday’s basketball game against UNC Wilmington at McCamish Pavilion. Other sources also stated that before the game, the Yellow Jackets team announced that Postorino “would not be on the bench ‘for an indefinite period of time in order to deal with personal issues’.”

Postorino, who is 35 years old, was hired in April 2011 by coach Brian Gregory and has only been part of the Yellow Jackets team for two seasons. After the game, coach Brian Gregory said, “out of respect for Josh, I’m going to leave the statement on its own.” It was stated that Postorino, who is also the former director of basketball operations at DePaul University, was in Florida recruiting. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will play again on Monday, December 17, versus Alabama State. Critics stated that “Postorino has another week before he would miss another game.” On Saturday, December 22, they will continue to play against The Citadel and on Saturday, January 5, versus the Miami Hurricanes.
