Former News Anchor Accused of Texas DWI in San Antonio

David Cruz, a reporter and former news anchor for News 4 WOAI, was charged with drinking and driving in San Antonio last Friday. Cruz was stopped after he cut off and almost hit a police vehicle near the intersection of Loop 410 and Interstate 10.

Cruz was given a field sobriety test and then taken to a municipal court for booking on suspicion of Driving While Intoxicated in Texas. He refused to submit to a breath test and reportedly passed out in the court bathroom.

Cruz publicly apologized and resigned his position with the San Antonio NBC affiliate.
