Florida DUI Driver Said He Was Distracted by Alligator

Police in Crestview Florida report the arrest of a man who said he was distracted by an alligator before driving over a curb, through a long grassy area and into a ditch. He told the officer investigating the accident to be careful of the lions and leopards around.

The 40-year old man from Texas was asked to perform a field sobriety test and he nearly fell over trying to complete it. Breath tests showed he had a .091-.092% BAC, slightly above the legal threshold of .08%. While being booked into jail for driving under the influence in Florida, the man stood up, walked to a desk and said he was “waiting to check-out”.
