A Boca Raton man has been charged with drunk driving in Florida after he deliberately drove his SUV into the front of his house. The man’s wife told police that he had become jealous and angry at a Fourth of July party because she was playing guitar with two men. The pair continued to fight on the drive home. The wife and four children got out of the vehicle when they arrived home and went into the house. Moments later there was a loud boom and the wife found the SUV in the living room.
Responding officers found the front door, window and exterior wall in pieces. Joesph Loprette, 48, was sitting on the couch and his wife was crying hysterically in the bathroom. The children were in the back room of the house. Police checked out Loprette and found he smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech. He refused to submit to a breath test and allegedly said, “Put me in cuffs, take me to jail, let’s go.’
Loprette faces charges of driving under the influence in Florida, DUI with property damage, aggravated assault and criminal mischief.
