DWI Hit-And-Run Injures 3 Boys

A local from Harlingen, TX, Eleazar Garcia, was arrested for being involved in two vehicle collisions while driving drunk. Sources stated that on Sunday morning, Garcia was charged with a DWI and other injury charges. It was determined that “Garcia was intoxicated when he caused two accidents, including one where three boys were rushed to the hospital.” Garcia, 24 years old, was conducing a silver 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier at the time that he collided into a tan 2006 Chevrolet Silverado truck that was carrying five passengers. Garcia drove away from the accident scene, injuring three boys from the ages of 6-10 years old that were passengers inside the truck. Luckily, paramedics responded fast and took the boys to the hospital.

Later that evening, sources stated that Garcia was also involved in a rollover accident near New Combes Highway. Investigators claimed that he probably “lost control of his car when he swerved to avoid hitting another car heading south.” Harlingen police officers administered Garcia a sobriety field test, which he failed. In addition, he was also transmitted to the hospital for a blood draw. Legal officers concluded that Garcia was drunk at the time of the accident. He was imprisoned and given a $39,000 bond.
