Drunk Drives Confesses DWI Accident Through Video

Rarely do we hear someone confess with such genuine honesty that they killed someone while drinking and driving. However, this was the case for Matthew Cordle. The Huffington Post  reported that Cordle, 22 years old, confessed that he was responsible for hitting and killing Vincent Canzani in a DWI accident. Cordle recorded a video of himself warning viewers against the consequences of DWI and stating, “My name is Matthew Cordle and on June 22, 2013, I hit and killed Vincent Canzani.”

In the video Cordle explains that before the fatal DWI accident occurred, he had been bar hopping with his friends, having a good time, and “drinking really heavily”. He was driving the wrong way on a highway when he hit Vincent Canzani, who was 61 years old. Canzani received serious injuries and died that night.

Cordle accepted full responsibility of his actions and stated in his video that he’s giving prosecutors “everything they need to put him away for a very long time.” He did this in an effort to send a message to other DWI drinkers. “I can’t bring Mr. Canzani back, and I can’t erase what I’ve done, but… your victims can still be saved. I beg you, and I say the word beg, specifically. I’m begging you, please don’t drink and drive,” said Cordle.
