Drunk Driver Terry McFarland Crashes Into Fire Truck

terry mcfarlandTerry McFarland, a drunk driver in St. Petersberg, Florida was arrested for DUI after crashing into a fire truck that was responding to an emergency call. According to police, the fire truck was driving north on 8th Street, with its emergency lights on, and was struck by McFarland in his red Hyundai while crossing the intersection at 1st Avenue. Police say that it was McFarland who ran a red light and crashed into the fire truck so hard, it caused it to overturn on its side. The accident occurred at around 2:30 am on October 30, 2012.

Apparently, the two paramedics in the fire truck had to be extricated and were transported to a local hospital after sustaining minor injuries. The drunk driver, Terry McFarland, was not injured in the crash but a male passenger in his vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police also found that McFarland was driving with a suspended license during their investigation. Terry McFarland was charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license and issued a citation for a red light violation.
