Dallas Police Officer Arrested For DWI

adam conwayDallas police officer Adam Conway was arrested for DWI while off-duty in Rockwall, Texas on May 25, 2013. The incident occurred Saturday evening around 6:20 p.m. when police responded to a call about an accident at the intersection of Highway 276 and Highway 205. After examining the accident, police found that Conway, an off-duty Dallas police officer was intoxicated and had been consuming alcoholic beverages before getting behind the wheel.

Conway was arrested for DWI and while it is unclear if he performed any field sobriety tests at the scene of the accident, a warrant was obtained to retrieve a blood sample while he was incarcerated at Rockwall City Jail. Since the results of the blood test have yet to be released, it is unclear what Conway’s blood alcohol content (BAC) level was on the night of his arrest. The Dallas police officer spent a night in the city jail before posting a $500 bond Sunday morning at his release. According to Rockwall police, the district attorney’s office will be presented with Conway’s case and decide where to go from there. Conway, who is a 15 year veteran with the Dallas Police Department, was placed on administrative leave and will be investigated by internal affairs.
