CSI Actor Carmine Giovinazzo Arrested For DUI

carmine giovinazzoActor Carmine Giovinazzo, known for his role on the TV show CSI: New York, was arrested for DUI on January 21, 2013 in Scottsdale, Arizona. According to police, Giovinazzo was seen swerving in and out of lanes around 2:40 a.m. when he was pulled over. When police began to question Giovinazzo, he was immediately apologetic and said his erratic driving was a result of using a gps device because he was lost. Giovinazzo, who had 2 other passengers with him in his Jeep Wrangler said that he was not from Arizona. As police continued to question the actor, they notice several symptoms of alcohol intoxication such as slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and an odor of alcohol.

When police asked if he had been drinking, Giovinazzo admitted to having some scotch at the W Hotel before driving that night. Giovinazzo was then placed under arrest for DUI, although, police have said that he was extremely nice and cooperative throughout the ordeal. The arresting officer commented on the incident, saying Giovinazzo had “repeatedly apologized to me and told me he didn’t want to be an ‘a**hole“. Police say that the actor’s blood alcohol content (BAC) level was .149%, almost double the legal limit. The officer did say that Carmine Giovinazzo was very nice and “thanked me many times for not treating him like a criminal and showing him respect“.
