According to police, Earnhardt admitted to having two shots of liquor at a local bar before getting behind the wheel that night. Following his arrest, Earnhardt publicly apologized to his fans, saying, “I wanted to let you all know I made a terrible mistake last night drinking and driving and I am thankful nothing bad happened from my stupidity and I know It could have. I’m sorry for letting all my fans friends and family down“. If convicted of DUI, Bobby Dale Earnhardt could spend six months in jail and be fined up to $500.
