Nevada Teen Involved In Deadly DUI With Bail Set At 3.5 Million

jean sorianoA teenager involved in a deadly DUI in Las Vegas Nevada that killed 5 people on March 30, 2013 has had bail set at $3.5 million. Jean Ervin Soriano faces was charged with felony DUI after a deadly crash that occurred at around 2:35 am Saturday morning on Interstate 15. Soriano was driving a Dodge Durango that night when he slammed into the back of a van, causing it to overturn. According to police, most of the 5 people in the van were thrown from the vehicle as it overturned and killed.

Police say that Soriano told the arresting officer he had “too many” beers before driving that night and that he was from California but could did not name the city or remember his exact address. The victims family members said that 3 of the men killed were brothers on their way back home from visiting their ill father in Denver. After the deadly DUI crash, Soriano was hospitalized for several hours before being taken to Clark County Jail. Soriano was driving with a 15 year old boy and 40 year old woman who were both taken to the hospital and have recently been upgraded from critical to serious condition with non-life-threatening injuries. Soriano’s blood alcohol content (BAC) test results are still pending and a judge has set his arraignment for April 10, where he will be represented by a public defender.
