#16143 Picking Up the Pieces
Eighteen
year old Tasha was driving home after a family vacation when her life
was changed forever. A drunk driver crossed the center line, hitting
the driver's side of Tasha's car. This resulted in a closed head
injury, altering Tasha's personality, creating depression, headaches,
seizures, and difficulty with organizational skills. She also suffered
from internal injuries, and lost her memory and sense of identity. The
crash caused her to revert to childhood, and Tasha had to learn to
breath, eat, walk and talk again.
Tasha believes that the reason she is alive is to spread the word
to others to never drink and drive. She has made great strides in
overcoming the physical and emotional effects of her crash. To prevent
further tragedies, Tasha speaks for those victims who can no longer
speak for themselves. PICKING UP THE PIECES... Surviving a Drunk
Driving Crash delivers a message whose impact will be felt long after
the words themselves are forgotten.
