We all know that driving after consuming alcohol is a recipe for disaster, yet many of us take the risk anyway. We know this, because 41 percent of all motor vehicle crashes are alcohol-related accidents. Nearly half of all traffic fatalities occur because someone was drinking and driving. Every half hour, someone dies in a crash in which alcohol was a factor; and every other minute, someone is injured in a collision that occurred because a driver drank before getting behind the wheel of a car or a truck. In America, about 18,000 people die each and every year because of drunk-driving accidents, and about 327,000 are injured.
