Consequences of PA DUI
Pennsylvania DUI laws establish three levels of penalties based on blood alcohol content at the time of an arrest for drunk driving in Westmoreland County. An offense with a BAC between .08 and .099 is treated as a misdemeanor and, in addition to a fine and probation, you could be required to attend an alcohol-highway safety school and enroll in an alcohol treatment program.
The penalties increase with higher BAC levels, and could include mandatory installation of an ignition interlock device and as much as five years in prison. Note that in certain circumstances, such as having a previous drunk driving arrest, causing an accident with injury or refusing to submit to a breath test, you could be charged with high BAC penalties even though your actual BAC was much lower.
Greensburg Pennsylvania DUI Attorney Michael Worgul can help you sort through the specifics of your case, and ensure that you get the best possible resolution.
