- Just 15 days after your DUI arrest the Department of Public Safety will automatically suspend your driver’s license, unless you request a special administrative hearing.
- You have the right to refuse to take a field sobriety test if you are stopped by the police for DUI. However, your driver’s license may be suspended for 6-months if you don’t submit to the test.
- Motorists over the age of 21 in Louisiana are considered legally drunk when they have a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher. The legal limit for those under the age of 21 is 0.02%.
- You can be charged with DUI while operating a car, boat, airplane or any ‘means of conveyance’.
