Lawyer Stopped for Texas DWI on Way to Court
Defense attorney arrest for drunk driving leads to mistrial in murder case.
A judge in northeastern Texas was forced to declare a mistrial in a murder case after one of the criminal defense attorneys was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Attorney Bryan Simmons was on his way to court last Friday when he was involved in an auto accident near New Boston. His vehicle left the road and ended up in a ditch with a flat tire. Responding police charged Simmons with Texas DWI.
Simmons denies being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. He demanded a breathalyzer test which the officers did not administer. A blood sample was taken, though the results will not be known for several weeks. Simmons claims he lost control of his vehicle during a sneezing fit caused by allergies and black pepper on the catfish he had just consumed.
The murder trial was halfway through jury selection when the arrest occurred. Simmons was ordered to reimburse the county $318 it had to pay potential jury members. He apologized to the court, his law partner, his client and the murder victim’s family.

This person is correct. Both Howard Tygrett and Eric Williams are sordid animals, wreaking terror on children, parents and families in Kaufman Texas. Both of these thugs need to be behind bars for their criminal behavior.
My nephew was destroyed by these people and I know several other families who were also.

Tygrett is one of the most narcissistic judges I have ever come across. I am a mom that was prey to Tygrett. He certainly isn't a man after integrity! Steer clear from Rebecca Calabria, Cathy Adams and Eric Williams if you love your kids but must go through Kaufman Co.

A relative of mine in Kaufman was maliciously maligned in Howard Tygrett's court and by Eric Williams and Linda Duggan of forney. She said this is an evil triage who have no desire to do justice.

As a resident of Kaufman Texas, I have heard and seen so much corruption in this Kaufman legal system that it is frightening. I have lived all over this nation and have never seen so many families torn apart by CPS and this judge and some others who are involved. Judge Howard Tygrett has and is getting a very bad reputation and it's for good reason. God forbid if you get him as a judge. You may never see your children or grandchildren again.

This is horrible. I too am so irate these no-brain, no justice people in our courthouse here in Kaufman. It's time to get them out Kaufman! Vote them out. This must be brought to justice. Their crimes of tearing families apart has got to be brought to justice!

great site thanks. I read it all! that man is not the only one these freaks have kidnapped from. it's about time people begin to rise up against the corruption in kaufman county tx. It's terrible and needs to be outed asap!!! Tygrett, attorney Eric Williams, Linda Duggan, Kaufman CPS, Calabria, and others have rampaged and hurt countless children, parents, and families here. let the boomarang of justice swing back around and take them out for good

Speaking of DUI's..... did you know that the kaufman county judges are appointing and allowing Linda Duggan of forney (counselor) to preside over family cases?!?!?!?!?! Linda Duggan has gotten 3 DUI's in dallas !!!!!! how can this be!!!!!!!!

This is really sad. Too bad Howard Tygrett doesn't do what is right. This is very sad. I am finding out now that Tygrett is running for re-election which should be withstood. He is not a just person.

Judge Howard Tygrett should be moving out of public office. He is too old and not paying attention and doesn't care to make clear, quality, true and fair decisions. Many of those who work with him know this and are disgusted. I think they are just afraid he will turn of them too as he does regularly on the people who come into his courtroom. Tygrett has wrecked enough lives. These things are becoming public knowledge and should pre-empt Mr. Tygrett from re-election in Kaufman County.

I go to bed every night without the ability to email, call, write, or see my son! Why? This vicious and evil corrupt judge, Howard Tygrett, took him away from me with NO evidence submitted to him that there was any real or substantial abuse. What did he allow the counselor - Linda Duggan - to use as "evidence" against me? 1. My son and I pray together, 2. My son and I read the Bible together, and 3. I was "too affectionate" with my son (hugged him too much and told him how much I love him). Howard Tygrett is a disgrace to Kaufman County.

Judge Howard Tygrett knowingly appoints Linda Duggan to cases with the full knowledge that she has 3 DWI's in Dallas county which makes her a felon and immoral, unfit to rule/have a say-so in family law cases involving families. For this reason alone, judge Howard Tygrett should be disqualified from making judgments on the lives of others.

I unfortunately live in Dallas County so therefore I cannot vote, but please please if you can do so. Vote this monster out of office. Way too many innocent mothers and father along with their children have been victims too long. Too bad it's not like the good ole days where you could run people out of town. I know of 4 who need that done...Calabria, Williams, Tygrett, and Duggan especially.

The damage judge Tygrett has done by using Linda Duggan (counselor) of forney is enough to cause this whole county to be in trouble with its citizens and the federal gov't. Lawsuits may be filed, class action at that and that will cost kaufman a huge amount of money. The greatest damage is how Tygrett is breaking family relationships. This guy is out of control. Linda Duggan is wacko, period. That woman should not be being appointed by any judge. Howard Tygrett appoints her all the time. Linda Duggan is wrecking families galore. This is a sad reality. Please vote for Tygrett's opponent on March 2,2010!

This March 2, 2010 election is ultra important. Please go vote. If you have not yet seen this site some concerned citizens and parents have set up, please go look at it, it's kaufman-tx.com. I am sure that you will see the importance of getting Howard Tygrett out of office when you read this. This guys has done so much damage to families and i think what they have on this site (kaufman-tx.com) may only be a small portion of the families he has destroyed.

It's sad to see that Eric Williams is now running for JP in precinct 1 here in Kaufman. So, is he leaving his law firm to now go hurt people as a JP? Does he think he can just wipe his mouth of what he has done and just slip right into a new position in this local government????? Does Eric not want to first get things right with all the people he has hurt first before moving on? Wouldn't he have a clearer conscious that way?

I just read the debate between Howard Tygrett and Raymond Shackelford. It's clear to see that Tygrett is boldface lying while Shackelford is a real gentleman that breathes new hope for Kaufman County. The very fact that Tygrett weekly and daily appoints alchoholic liar linda duggan (counselor from forney) to cases to destroy her new victims shows who he really is.
