Man Claims Novel Pennsylvania DUI Defense
44-year old accused of drunk driving in Northampton County says he is his own country.
Scott Allan Witmer is accused of driving under the influence in Pennsylvania. In his defense, he filed paperwork claiming sovereignty and thus immunity from state laws. He told the court, “I live inside myself, not in Pennsylvania.” He added that there was no victim in the drunk driving offense and asked to go to trial.
A Northampton County judge said the 44-year old defendant cannot be released from jail until he undergoes a mental examination. A Pennsylvania DUI lawyer is on standby for a more conventional legal defense.

I recently have gotten a DUI for a .89 blood alcohol level... It has currently, from what I have experienced, ended my life as a whole. the fines themselves I cannot pay for, let alone the lawyer, which has done nothing for me. I'm a 22 year old student... that now is in $3,000 more in debt over the $10,000 in student loans I have had, because of this garabe case... I'm most likely going to drop out of school, and become a star fighter... I would rather be in jail for assaulting the arresting police officer of my case then the hell im going through now....

That is the dumbest post I have ever read. Were you drunk when you wrote it? Are you for real? You are angry because you were drinking and driving and got caught? You say you are a student, however you obviously can't spell to save your life. So I don't think the education is taking very well in that thick skull. You are not only guilty of DUI, but of attempted murder. You are drinking and you get in your car then you know full well what might happen, yet you don't care. That sounds like a psychopath, and typically in society psychopaths end up executed or in jail for their whole life. Good luck with your pathetic life.
