Was he fired? Please don't fire the man! This a one time mistake - Give him a break after fining him for his driving while intoxicating.
We all like Norman!!!

Don't fire the man - only one mistake.... Are you kidding. What if this had resulted in a death. Then it would have been ok to fire him. He is a leader in the community and often asks tough questions as a news anchor. Who will consider him credible any more. I have friends who have lost loved ones to drunk drivers and each time, the driver swore then had never done that before. Sad - fire him and let him do community service.

I think Norman should be treated like anyone else.
If it's company policy at WDSU to fire someone who can not report to work due to being in jail, well then it shall be.

He may have been a good reporter, but now amybe he will not be so quick to find fault in everyone else

What would you like to do next, stone the man? First of all, it did not result in a death. Now I am against drinking and driving too, but haven't we all done it at least once. Losing your job because of it is a little extreme. We are human and we do err from time to time. To ruin a good man's career from a lack in judgement is wrong. Let the law give him his punishment and let him get back to the news. We miss him.

I think that the station or the newspaper should tell the community what is going on now with Norman Robinson. Not saying anything is making it worse than it may indeed be.

He who has never made a mistake in judgement can cast the first stone. To think that there is anyone out there who is flawless and who has never made a bad judgement call is ridiculous. I have been watching Norman since Washington, DC and also his days at the other local station. I know that he is an articulate, credible and factual anchor. I watch Norman Robinson to get the facts. Norman hold your head up, keep doing your job as only you can. God Bless you!!!

I know its a little late for this comment, but do other people who receive DWI's get fired from their jobs? Mr. Robinson should be given a second chance. I am sure he has learned his lesson. Besides we would be losing a great newscaster.
