Really odd drunk driving news – 'Multiples in Parallel'
One car, two California DUI arrests – A Merced resident alerted police to a vehicle that had hit a concrete fence shortly after noon and was fleeing the scene riding on three flat tires. Responding police stopped the vehicle and questioned the driver, Sean Guevara. He admitted to having switched places with Nikki Munoz, who was driving at the time of the accident. Both were booked on suspicion of driving under the influence in California.
One car, two New York DWI arrests – Last winter, Lockport police investigating an accident found Christine L. Harris walking on the street and her car stuck in a snowbank. She was combative and denied driving at the time of the accident. While she was being booked for drunk driving in NY, her passenger, Paul E. Schuster, tried to maneuver the car into a driveway and became stuck. He too was charged with driving while intoxicated in New York.
One car, another two New York DWI arrests – New York State Police charged Aaron M. Stiles with DWI in New York after backing onto a road immediately in front of a patrol vehicle. Stiles reportedly had a blood alcohol level about twice the legal limit when he was ticketed. During the on-scene investigation, police learned that passenger Jeffrey J. Hutchins had been operating the vehicle before the two had switched places, because Hutchins was driving the wrong way home. Hutchins was charged with aggravated NY DWI for having a BAC of .22%.
