Really odd drunk driving news – Just Strange
Public exposure and two New York DWI arrests – New York State Police responding to a 911 call observed Heather Almodoval, 38, exposing herself, possibly urinating along the roadway. Almodoval's blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit when she was booked on charges of driving while intoxicated in NY and 'exposure of a person'. Later police were warned of a vehicle heading the wrong way on a local highway. It was Almodoval again. She had posted bail, taken a taxi, located her vehicle, apparently consumed more alcohol and then attempted to drive. Her BAC during the second NY DWI arrest was three times the legal limit.
Georgia DUI suspect begs police to shoot him – Police tried to pull over Thomas Lackey for suspected drunk driving in Georgia. Lackey instead took off in his Mercedes, leading police on a chase with speeds reaching 130 mph on a limited access highway. Lackey then drove in the wrong direction on a surface street before crashing into a tree in the median of the road. Lackey then got out of his vehicle and started yelling "Shoot me, shoot me." Instead the officers used a stun gun and took him into custody. Lackey was booked on charges of driving under the influence in GA, fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest, aggravated assault by motor vehicle and numerous traffic charges.
Louisiana DWI suspect passes out while being read his rights – Michael Dean Wells, 38, from Kingsland Texas, was stopped by Bossier Louisiana police after his truck swerved across a highway onto the shoulder on the opposite side of the road. He refused to submit to a breath test or perform most of the requested field sobriety tests. While being read his rights and placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Louisiana, Wells fell out of the cab of his vehicle and passed out. He was held overnight at the Bossier Maximum Security Facility.
Florida DUI suspect 'loses nose' – An unidentified female was involved in a three-car accident and police suspected driving under the influence after she said she did not know how her car was damaged. She spent 10 minutes gazing off before retrieving the documents requested by the officers. When told she was under suspicion of FL DUI she replied, "You might as well shoot me with your gun." Her ordeal was not quite over yet though. When asked to perform a finger-to-nose field sobriety test, she said "I have lost my nose", and was only able to locate it with further instruction from the officer. The woman was charged with driving while under the influence of four medications, including Lithium and Lortab.
