Seahawk Defensive Star Charged with Washington DUI in Seattle Area
Lofa Tatupu arrested for suspicion of drunk driving in Kirkland.
The Seattle Seahawks defensive leader Lofa Tatupu was charged with driving under the influence in Washington after being stopped by Kirkland police. Tatupu was seen speeding and changing lanes without signaling. When the officer caught up with Tatupu at a restaurant drive-thru, he detected alcohol of the NFL player’s breath.
Tatupu’s car was impounded and he was taken to a Kirkland police station for booking on suspicion of drunk driving in Washington. According to the arrest report, two breath tests revealed blood alcohol content readings of .155% and .158%; nearly twice the legal limit for intoxication.
Tatupu is a three time Pro Bowl linebacker drafted by the Seahawks in 2005 out of USC. He recently signed a contract extension worth $42 million.
