Paris Hilton DUI

Barron Hilton Pleads No Contest to California DUI

Paris’ brother sentenced to probation for drunk driving in Los Angeles.

An attorney for Barron Hilton entered a no contest plea to DUI in Los Angeles Superior court. In exchange the 18-year old Hilton received three years probation. He will lose his driver’s license for one year and must complete three alcohol education programs. Hilton was also fined $2,000.

The three education programs include 6-months of alcohol awareness classes, a ‘scared straight’ hospital stint and a field trip to the county morgue.

Hilton was arrested for driving under the influence in California last February after driving erratically on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. His blood alcohol content was .13%, well above the legal limit for intoxication of an adult. The younger brother of Paris was charged with two misdemeanor counts; DUI and possessing a fake driver’s license.

If you been arrested for Driving Under the Influence in Southern California you will need to hire a Los Angeles DUI Attorney.

Barron Hilton DUI: Passenger in Barron Hilton's California DUI in LA Revealed

Brother of Paris Hilton recently arrested for drunk driving in Los Angeles.

Paris and Barron HiltonParis Hilton’s younger brother Barron was arrested earlier this month for California DUI in Los Angeles after being spotted driving erratically on the Pacific Coast Highway. The 18-year old Barron had a ‘mystery’ passenger in the black Mercedes E350 when he was stopped, and her identity has now been revealed.

Skye Peters, the 16-year old daughter of ‘Superman Returns’ filmmaker Jon Peters is alleged to have been driving the Mercedes before Barron was arrested. The vehicle is registered in her name and the California Highway Patrol reportedly has witnesses who claim Peters was driving when she sideswiped a Ford Ranger pick-up truck. Then Barron took the wheel and knocked over an attendant as he left a gas station.

The two were tracked by a witness who held them until police arrived on the scene around 8:30 in the morning. Barron’s blood alcohol content registered twice the legal limit for adults of drinking age. He spent nine hours in jail before being released on $20,000 bail. Barron Hilton is scheduled to be arraigned April 14 in the Malibu courthouse.

Paris Hilton’s Brother Nabbed for California DUI in Los Angeles

Barron Hilton charged with DUI in LA Tuesday morning.

Paris and Barron HiltonBarron Hilton, the 18-year-old brother of Paris, was arrested for suspicion of a DUI in Los Angeles, California Tuesday just after 8:00 am. Hilton was taken to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lost Hills station where he was booked for a DUI and later released after posting $5,000 bail.

The sheriff’s department was alerted to a black Mercedes weaving on the highway in Malibu, sometimes driving into the wrong direction of traffic. A witness who followed Hilton until he stopped made him sit on a bus bench until deputies arrived. The California Highway Patrol is investigating whether a female passenger in Hilton’s vehicle may have been driving the car earlier and involved in an accident.

Barron Hilton reportedly registered a blood alcohol content of 0.14%, nearly twice the over-21 year old legal limit in California for driving while intoxicated. He was charged with a California DUI, a misdemeanor, as well as having a fake driver’s license, which is a felony.

Paris Hilton Freed from Jail

Celebutante released after 23 days in jail for probation violation

An energetic crowd greeted Paris Hilton as she was released from the Century Regional Detention Facility shortly after midnight. Her mother, Kathy Hilton told reporters that she and her daughter were “going to go home, put our jammies on and talk.” Rather than being secreted out of jail, Paris walked out the front door smiling and waving. Sheriff’s deputies pushed back fans, photographers and reporters so the 26-year old heiress could depart in her parent’s Cadillac Escalade.

Hilton spent a total of 23 days in jail, including a day and a half under house arrest. The original sentence of 45 days was reduced for good behavior. Hilton had been released from jail briefly for medical reasons that were later described as psychological, but was ordered to return by the presiding judge in her case. After a stay in a medical treatment center for analysis she was returned to the women’s facility in Lynwood, California.

During her incarceration, Hilton phoned Barbara Walters to say she “used to act dumb” but that she had found God and wanted to be more involved with charitable works.

Hilton was sentenced to jail for a probation violation stemming from a California DUI arrest last year. She remains under probation until March 2009 though she can shorten that time frame by performing community service.

Paris Hilton Sent Back to Jail

Judge orders Hilton to complete her sentence behind bars after sheriff’s switch to house arrest on Thursday

The DUI and jail saga of Paris Hilton took yet another twist as the judge in her case ordered her back to jail. Hilton was visibly shaken and screamed, “It’s not right!” She then cried out for her mother.

Hilton was unexpected released from jail shortly after midnight early Thursday morning due to an undisclosed medical condition. LA Sheriff Lee Baca authorized the release of Hilton and the imposition of house arrest for the remainder of her jail sentence. That upset Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer who had explicitly denied Hilton the option of house arrest at the time of sentencing. It also created a firestorm of criticism from the public, the sheriff's deputies union, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, civil rights leaders and defense attorneys.

Judge Sauer issued the order for Hilton to return to court Friday and to show cause why Baca shouldn't be held in contempt of court. During the day’s hearing the city attorney presented a complaint that Sheriff Baca did not have authorization to release Hilton.

Hilton was initially allowed to be in phone contact with the court during today’s proceedings but then a police squad car was dispatched to pick her up. She was taken to court in handcuffs, casually dressed and with disheveled hair. She cried throughout the hearing and was taken from the courtroom screaming after being ordered back to jail to serve her entire 45-day sentence.

Socialite released from jail after three days

Just three days into her 45-day sentence, Paris Hilton was released from jail due to a ‘medical condition. She will be fitted with an electronic ankle bracelet and remanded to house arrest for the rest of her sentence.

The 26-year old socialite was sentenced to jail for violating the terms of her probation stemming from a California DUI charge. Hilton arrived at the all-woman’s Century Regional Detention Facility in Los Angeles Sunday night. During her stay she was confined to her cell for 23 hours each day. There are reports that she spent the first two nights crying.

According to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department spokesman, Hilton has been credited with five days of incarceration because she arrived at the jail before midnight on Sunday and left just after midnight Thursday.

Paris Hilton Heads to Jail

Celebutante checks into LA jail two days early

Paris Hilton made a surprise appearance Sunday afternoon at the MTV Movie Awards. Hours later she arrived at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California to begin a 45 day sentence.

The 26-year old heiress to the Hilton fortune turned herself in at the Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles around 10:30 pm. She was transferred to the all women’s Lynwood facility an hour later, where she was booked, fingerprinted and issued a jail-issued jumpsuit.

Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said “(Hilton’s) demeanor was helpful. She was focused, she was cooperative.” Whitmore added that Hilton does not have a cellmate. Paris was assigned to a ‘special needs’ unit with two-person cells away from the general prison inmates. The unit is used for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates.

Hilton will be confined to a 12-foot-by-8-foot cell. She will only be allowed to leave the cell for one hour a day to shower, engage in outdoor activities or use the telephone.

When sentenced, the judge denied her work release privileges. Hilton was given a 45 day jail sentence for violating probation stemming from an arrest for California DUI. After pleading no contest to the reckless-driving charge in that case, her driver’s license was suspended. She was stopped by police in January and informed that she was driving with a suspended license. Hilton was stopped again in February and charged with a probation violation.

With time off for good behavior, Hilton is expected to serve about three weeks of her jail sentence.

Paris Hilton Gets Jail Term

Heiress says: I don't deserve jail

Paris Hilton JailLast Friday, a visibly shaken and crying Paris Hilton was sentenced to to 45 days in jail by a judge who ruled that she had knowingly violated the terms of her probation. Hilton was ticketed for driving without a license, which had been suspended after a California DUI incident last year.

Hilton’s spokesperson Elliot Mintz told the court Friday that he was responsible for telling the 26-year old socialite and party girl that she could drive for “work-related” purposes. The judge rejected that attempt to divert responsibility and cited a form signed by the Hilton during a traffic stop in January where she acknowledged she was not to drive. Hilton fired Mintz on Saturday.

She is scheduled to enter the Century Regional Detention Facility for Women in Lynwood, California on June 5, though her defense attorney is planning an appeal.

Hilton said, “I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwarranted. I don't deserve this.”

Paris’ parents, Kathy and Rick Hilton, are thought to be exploring connections to keep her out of jail or get the sentence reduced. Others speculate that Kathy Hilton may try to capitalize on the event by offering an exclusive interview or even angling for a new reality show on Paris’ time in jail.

California DUI defense attorneys find Hilton’s jail sentence not out of the ordinary for someone who had been arrested for DUI and was subsequently stopped multiple times driving with a suspended license. What was slightly unusual is that the judge ordered Hilton to serve the entire 45-day sentence recommended by the city attorney, but perhaps that was in response to the perception that Hilton had not taken her arrest seriously and was trying to see what she could get with.

Jail Time Recommended for Paris Hilton

Prosecutors file jail recommendation for probation violation stemming from California DUI charge

Paris Hilton Court AppearanceThe Los Angeles attorney’s office has recommended that heiress Paris Hilton be jailed for 45 days for violating terms of her probation from a drunk driving incident. In addition, prosecutors want Hilton to be prohibited from consuming alcohol for 90 days, wear a monitoring device to ensure she complies and have her license suspended for an extra four months.

Last January Hilton pleaded no contest to reckless driving in a case stemming from a September California DUI arrest. She was sentenced to 36 months probation, required to attend alcohol education classes and fined $1,500.

Two additional traffic stops eventually led to the charge of probation violation. Hilton was stopped by the California Highway Patrol in January and informed that she was driving on a suspended license. Records show she signed a document acknowledging she was not to drive. Then in February she was stopped at 11:00 pm for speeding with her vehicle’s headlights off.

Though both Hilton and her spokesperson claim that she did not know her license was suspended, prosecutors point to the document signed in January. Attorney’s for the city also state that Hilton has yet to enroll in court mandated alcohol education classes.

The LA attorney’s office filed its recommendations in Superior Court, which will be reviewed by a judge during a probation violation hearing on Friday. Hilton will be required to be in the courtroom. The judge can accept the recommendations or impose a different penalty. The judge would also be able to decide where Hilton would be incarcerated if a jail sentence is meted out. Hilton has the legal option of requesting the jail of her choice and, if accepted by the judge, paying the costs associated with her incarceration.

The city attorney said that Hilton is not getting special treatment. The maximum jail penalty for this type of probation violation is 90 days.
