Charles Barkley Arrested for Arizona DUI in Scottsdale
Former NBA player stopped after running a stop sign.
Former basketball player Charles Barkley was charged with suspicion of drunk driving in Scottsdale Arizona early Wednesday morning. An Arizona DUI task force officer spotted Barkley running a stop sign around 1:30 am. Barkley refused to submit to a breath test though a blood sample was taken at a mobile command center to test for blood alcohol content. The results are not immediately available.
Barkley was booked for driving under the influence in Arizona. He was released and he left in a cab.
Barkley’s AZ DUI arrest took place in the Old Town area of Scottsdale, a trendy spot in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Barkley played sixteen seasons in the NBA for three different teams. He was an 11 time All-Star and the league MVP in 1993. Barkley also represented the United States in the Olympic ‘Dream Teams’ of 1992 and 1996.
