Richie Sambora Charged With California DUI in Orange County
Bon Jovi rocker Richie Sambora charged with drunk driving in California.
Bon Jovi rocker Richie Sambora was charged with driving under the influence in California. He was stopped in Laguna Beach around 11:00 pm after police observed him driving erratically in his black Hummer.
Sambora reportedly failed several field sobriety tests. He is to be arraigned on May 7 on misdemeanor California DUI charges.
There were three females in the vehicle with Sambora, including two minors; though one is suspected to have been his 10-year old daughter.
Last June Sambora went through detox at the UCLA Medical Center and then checked into the celebrity preferred Cirque Lodge in Utah for reab. He cited the dissolution of his marriage to actress Heather Locklear and his father’s death from cancer as reasons for his excessive drinking. He entered outpatient rehab again later in the year.
Sambora is lead guitarist for the rock group Bon Jovi, which recorded such hits as “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Livin’ on a Prayer.”
