Arizona Attorney to Put Photos of DUI Offenders on Billboards

Maricopa County Prosecutor Andrew Thomas hopes shame will keep drunk drivers off the road with Billboards.

Andrew Thomas, County Attorney

Maricopa County, Arizona Attorney Andrew Thomas has announced a campaign aimed at reducing drunk driving in the Phoenix area. He is going to put photographs of motorists arrested for Arizona DUI on billboards and a website.

The campaign will feature faces of those convicted of Arizona DUI. The billboards will be erected in time for the upcoming holidays and remain in place through New Year’s Day. A related website will outline details of the drunk driving arrest and indicate whether there were any injuries.

Thomas, lead prosecutor in Maricopa County, wants drivers to think twice about drinking and driving by seeing the consequences of their decisions. In addition to the threat of jail time and loss of license, Thomas wants shame to be a DUI deterrent.

The campaign costs approximately three-quarters of a million dollars, and it has been paid for by an Arizona DUI-fighting grant and from a state fund containing assets seized from RICO criminal offenders.

Yavapai justice court playpen

Posted by Anita Clark at 2008-03-20 01:29
I LIKE this. Do remember to put Julie Anne Geering, Cordes Lakes on the highway advertising board. She left me facing two major spinal surgeries, inflicting over $10,000 damage to my car and trying to get out of paying on any of it. The courts in Yavapai repeatedly release her back to the street to rob citizens, some at gunpoint for drug money.Good Citizen Geering, huh?
All the drug users and dealers have to do is 'whisper three little dirty words'(alleged three names of other drug users) to get off any charges in the Mayer playpen court or the upper court level. The victim is the ONLY one who loses, suffers. Drug user/dealer cases are made more "efficient" by expediently moving them through and OUT of the hell-bent cost saving judicial system. I KNOW what being the victim of a crack cocaine/marijuana, liqour criminal is in Yavapai County and how the system of 'justice' further victimized me. The mentality in this part of Arizona ENABLES drug users to keep using the 'go-around' and victimize again and again at cost to only the victim. They belong for life, with no probation, in prison, lossing all THEIR property to pay for victims' loses.
