Kenny Stabler Leaving Alabama Broadcast Booth
Former star taking leave of absence to fight Alabama DUI charge.
Kenny Stabler has announced that he is taking a leave of absence from his position as color analyst for the University of Alabama radio broadcast team. The former Crimson Tide star quarterback was arrested June 8 for driving under the influence in Alabama.
Stabler expressed regret for the suffering he has brought to the Alabama ‘family’ and said he will miss his position with the Crimson Tide Sports Network. He went on to reiterate his innocence in the Alabama drunk driving case and he said he expects to be fully exonerated.
Stabler has indicated to close friends that he wants to return to the broadcast booth for the 2009 season. Tom Roberts will assume the color analyst duties for the upcoming football season.
